Description

Eastern grey kangaroos are a common spectacle by the shoreline of Pebbly Beach within Murramarang National Park.

Set amidst mountain and bush scenery with an abundance of ferns. Spotted gums and an understory of burrawangs make up the major part of the plant community. Wildlife abounds and is a major attraction for visitors with its access to a range of wonderful coastal walking tracks throughout this rich environment.

As well as eastern grey kangaroos, swamp wallabies and occasional red-necked wallabies can be seen at dawn and dusk as they feed. Common birdlife includes parrots, finches, honeyeaters and a variety of seabirds.

Pebbly Beach is regarded as a delightful spot for picnics and camping. For tumbling their special discoveries, lapidary enthusiasts often search the beach scouring the abundant pebbles.
